Voice recognition through the use of Gabor transform and heuristic algorithm
Increasingly popular use of verification methods based on specific characteristics of people like eyeball, fingerprint or voice makes inventing more accurate and irrefutable methods of that urgent. In this work we present the voice verification based on Gabor transformation. The proposed approach involves creation of spectrogram, which serves as a habitat for the population of selected heuristic algorithm. The use of heuristic allows for the features extraction to enable identity verification using classical neural network. The results of the research are presented and discussed to show efficiency of the proposed methodology

Benchmark tests on heuristic methods in the darts game
Games are among problems that can be reduced to optimization, for which one of the most universal and productive solving method is a heuristic approach. In this article we present results of benchmark tests on using 5 heuristic methods to solve a physical model of the darts game. Discussion of the scores and conclusions from the research have shown that application of heuristic methods can simulate artificial intelligence as a regular player with very good results
Real-Time Cloud-based Game Management System via Cuckoo Search Algorithm
This paper analyses the idea of applying Swarm Intelligence in the process of managing the entire 2D board game in a real-time environment. For the proposed solution Game Management System is used as a cloud resource with a dedicated intelligent control agent. The described approach has been analysed on the basis of board games like mazes. The model and the control algorithm of the system is described and examined. The results of the experiments are presented and discussed to show possible advantages and disadvantages of the proposed method.
Simplified firefly algorithm for 2D image key-points search
In order to identify an object, human eyes firstly search the field of view
for points or areas which have particular properties. These properties are used
to recognise an image or an object. Then this process could be taken as a model
to develop computer algorithms for images identification. This paper proposes
the idea of applying the simplified firefly algorithm to search for key-areas
in 2D images. For a set of input test images the proposed version of firefly
algorithm has been examined. Research results are presented and discussed to
show the efficiency of this evolutionary computation method.Comment: Published version on: 2014 IEEE Symposium on Computational

Toward adaptive heuristic video frames capturing and correction in real-time
Multimedia devices are widely used in professional applications as well as personal purposes. The use of computer vision systems enables detection and extraction of important features exposed in images. However constantly increasing demand for this type of video with high quality requires simple however reliable methods. The objective of presented research is to investigate applicability of heuristic method for real-time video frames capturing and correction
Available bandwidth estimation in smart VPN bonding technique based on a NARX neural network
Today many applications require a high Quality of Service (QoS) to the network, especially for real time applications like VoIP services, video/audio conferences, video surveillance, high definition video transmission, etc. Besides, there are many application scenarios for which it is essential to guarantee high QoS in high speed mobility context using an Internet Mobile access. However, internet mobile networks are not designed to support the real-time data traffic due to many factors such as resource sharing, traffic congestion, radio link, coverage, etc., which affect the Quality of Experience (QoE). In order to improve the QoS in mobility scenarios, the authors propose a new technique named "Smart VPN Bonding" which is based on aggregation of two or more internet mobile accesses and is able to provide a higher end-to-end available bandwidth due to an adaptive load balancing algorithm. In this paper, in order to dynamically establish the correct load balancing weights of the smart VPN bonder, a neural network approach to predict the main Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) values in a determinate geographical point is proposed
Model of Identity Verification Support System Based on Voice and Image Samples
The increasing need to implement systems as identity verification meant that safe and effective verification systems have become one of the main branches of modern scientiffic research. In this paper, the idea of identity verification support system is presented. The main novelty of this work is to present the technique of feature extraction that can be implemented simultaneously for processed image files as well sound ones. Proposed method was tested due to achieve the highest possible accuracy of the selected neural classifier. The obtained results were discussed in terms of advantages and disadvantages for practical applications
Polar Bear Optimization Algorithm: Meta-Heuristic with Fast Population Movement and Dynamic Birth and Death Mechanism
In the proposed article, we present a nature-inspired optimization algorithm, which we called Polar Bear Optimization Algorithm (PBO). The inspiration to develop the algorithm comes from the way polar bears hunt to survive in harsh arctic conditions. These carnivorous mammals are active all year round. Frosty climate, unfavorable to other animals, has made polar bears adapt to the specific mode of exploration and hunting in large areas, not only over ice but also water. The proposed novel mathematical model of the way polar bears move in the search for food and hunt can be a valuable method of optimization for various theoretical and practical problems. Optimization is very similar to nature, similarly to search for optimal solutions for mathematical models animals search for optimal conditions to develop in their natural environments. In this method. we have used a model of polar bear behaviors as a search engine for optimal solutions. Proposed simulated adaptation to harsh winter conditions is an advantage for local and global search, while birth and death mechanism controls the population. Proposed PBO was evaluated and compared to other meta-heuristic algorithms using sample test functions and some classical engineering problems. Experimental research results were compared to other algorithms and analyzed using various parameters. The analysis allowed us to identify the leading advantages which are rapid recognition of the area by the relevant population and efficient birth and death mechanism to improve global and local search within the solution space
